We are an Independent Baptist Church.   This means, for one thing, that there is no administrational organization over us, directing our policies, ordering our practices, or supplying us with pastors.   As a congregation, we decide such things ourselves.   We are a body and Christ is our Head. For another thing, it means that we believe as Baptist Churches before us have believed.   Our heritage traces back to the Reformation and its emphasis on the written Word of God and on salvation by grace.   It is in the Word of God that we learn who God is, what He has done for us, and how we can respond to Him and live our lives in fellowship with Him.   Salvation, the Bible teaches, comes to us by grace through Jesus Christ alone.
We believe the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has changed our lives for all eternity.   Once, we were separated from God and going our own way, but by His death on the cross, Jesus reconciled us to God, and made us to be His children.   By His resurrection, He gained for us eternal life.   For now, that means assurance of eternity with God, and changed lives.   Those who stole, steal no more.   And those who cheated or lied or hated, have (by God's grace) been changed, and lead lives that are holy and right. As Baptists, we believe that when we confess our trust in Christ, we are to be baptized by immersion, as a symbol of our believe in the death of Jesus for our sins and in His resurrection. Baptism is a public declaration of our faith in Him.
